Pittsburgh Couples Boudoir Photography, From Their Perspective

Today marks 13 years of marriage and 16 years of navigating life together.  It seemed most fitting to share a snippet of their story with you. The members of our private facebook group, know that I gushed about this session. This couple. Their photographs. This is one of those experiences that changed me. This couple is a perfect yin and yang. They compliment one another so sweetly. The energy that they share with the universe is beautiful and inspiring. They feel vibrant. They feel like love. Love doesn't always present itself as a tangible presence but in the company of these two, love floats in the air all around. The studio was usually full that day, basically the only time it has ever happened that we were not in the studio alone; and every single woman remarked something to the effect of, "Who are they?" "Did you see the way he looks at her?" "My god, they are beautiful." This day, you could witness love, you could feel love as they told stories about their daughters while he showed us all of their photos and talked about their cast of friends and family. They know that their love is unique and they do not take it for granted. Being present for such respect and admiration between two people gave me a whole new persepective on what love is. 

She was kind enough to share their session and her thoughts with all of you and just a few days later, he sent me the email you will find at the bottom!

What She Said,

What was your motivation to seek out a boudoir photography experience?

I did a boudoir shoot in the past and had a lot of fun. I wanted to take it to the next level and have my husband participate in it, too!

Choosing your studio/photographer is super personal. Why did you choose The GFE?

Choosing The GFE was a no brainer. Two of my friends had referred us to Stephanie. After seeing her work, I was sold. 

Leading up to the shoot what were you most concerned about?

I was most concerned with my pictures being the exception. I was worried I would look awkward and not nearly as beautiful as the other girls she has photographed.

What was your favorite part of your boudoir experience?

My favorite part was how comfortable Steff made me feel. I also enjoyed being comfortable enough to laugh and joke around while standing there in lingerie.

Is there anything you would change or do differently?

I wouldn't do anything differently. I have plenty more ideas for our next shoot now!!

What woud you tell other women about your experience?

I would encourage all women to this at least once in their lives. No matter their age, weight. Single or married. Do it for yourself! This is the most empowering thing I have ever done.

Do you view yourself differently since your session?

Yes, I definitely view myself differently. I still have my moments but they are few and far between now. I am finally able to see myself through my husband's eyes and it has made all the difference in the world. I was always focused on being in my 40's. Now I'm just focused on "being"
Trusting someone with your half naked body can be very scary. What's more vulnerable than being on display, in next to nothing with a complete stranger? Well trust me, Steff will immediately become your bff and all of your apprehension will melt away. She has a gift for making women feel exceptional in their skin. My husband was beyond thrilled that I was able to open up as much as I did with her help.

Hey Steff,

First off, I'd like to say thank you......and that is for a host of different things, but I'll keep it brief:

First and foremost for providing women with the avenue to expose their inner and outer beauty, no matter shape, size, age, race.....beauty is beauty.

I tell my wife all the time, "I wish you saw yourself the way I do" she is way harder on herself physically than any critic out there. I know women double her size and half her size that would kill for her body and it's ALL MINE and I adore every inch of it!!!!!

I know women who have done this to strengthen their marriage, a gift for a boyfriend, because they like the way they look, and because they wanted to feel more beautiful, more empowered. That last one, you did for my wife. I've even told guys I know they need to experience this. You gave my wife the opportunity to come out of her shell and be vulnerable and she LOVED it. Truth be told she was scared out of her mind leading up to the shoot, but you never would have known that. She enjoyed so much apparently this will now be an annual thing. Thank you for making her feel as comfortable as you did in her own skin, thank you for telling her she's beautiful because always hearing it from me, it's just not the same. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. 

Every time I look at the pictures from the shoot I laugh about something different from that day.
