This Maternity session is extra special to me! If you travel in the way back machine and find the start of the blog you'll also find this woman's first session. It is amazing what can happen in a few short years. She found herself enjoying her last pregnancy and wanted to celebrate with another session. She is also part of our team. An extremely talented photo retoucher and photographer herself, when I am backed up and need some extra special attention, she always takes care of me with some undetectable beautiful work! So many of my favorite images from her pittsburgh maternity session, were figure studies. ;) yes, nudes. 

Each pregnancy is different. With this one, she felt great and she is hitting pause on anymore pregnancies for now; she has felt her absolute best during this pregnancy so I'd had to make sure we captured images of how wonderful she felt and looked. Most women express to me that they wished they had done this during their pregnancies but something scared them off. Either fear of what they really looked like or the expense of photographs with a new baby coming. I understand both. There is so much to do and buy in preparation for a new family member, that photographs of your pregnancy don't make it high up the priority list. 

Maternity photos are the beginning of your legacy as a mother, if this is your first baby. They can be the last chapter in your pregnancy story book. Photographs of your pregnancy are the very first images of your child and you. If your'e already a mama and you want a session, you are realizing that everyone benefits when you're well taken care of and your needs are met. 

Every once in a while I'll come into contact with women just like her and for a moment, I feel a pang of jealousy. Being pregnant is like 9 months of New Years Eve.
